UEFA Champions League Photo Pod – Brand Activation

Megabooth at the UEFA Champions League

Football has been on the agenda at Megabooth in April. Starting with trips up North for the first leg of Manchester Utd vs Bayern Munich game. Soon followed by Chelsea’s penultimate game against French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG). Both games were part of the quarter-finals of the coveted Champions League.

The photo booth of choice for the Uefa Champions League was the standalone Photo Pod. This product teamed up with a Uefa branded backdrop in the Champions lounge at Old Trafford (Manchester) and Stamford Bridge (Chelsea). The backdrop was a replica of where the current players and managers are interviewed post-game. This meant many visitors used their Heineken pint glasses as a makeshift mic.

Ex Chelsea player and manager John Hollins MBE hosted the evening at Chelsea. He was left to entertain a nervy room of blues fans…at least until the final whistle was blown. The night featured ex-players from both clubs. The visitors were the legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel MBE, former England international Gary Pallister, the little Portuguese playmaker Deco and one of Chelsea’s all-time top goalscorers Kerry Dixon. They definitely enlightened everyone with stories from their glittering football careers.

Heineken and HTC are the two main sponsors for the Uefa Champions League this season. Heineken offered visitors light refreshments throughout the evenings and lessons on how to pull the perfect pint. HTC used both events as an opportunity to showcase their latest product, the new HTC One M8 smartphone.

In the Champions League quarter-final, Manchester United reached the end of the road in the competition. On the other hand, Chelsea marched on into the semi-finals and we will be returning with a photo booth to Stamford Bridge next Wednesday (30th May) for the nail-biting decider against Spanish opposition Atletico Madrid.

A member of the Megabooth team thinks he saw David Beckham and Christian Ronaldo wander past several times at Manchester’s theatre of dreams. However, he’s been accused of telling little white lies in the past…
