Gap x Disney Collection – capture your own Disney moment at the Oxford Street flagship store
Gap x Disney collection for BabyGap and GapKids. The collaboration was to celebrate love and making young Gap shoppers Disney dreams come true. ue. The collection hit Gap stores in October, and those familiar faces of Mickey and Minnie are at the heart of the collection. To celebrate the launch of GapxDisney, Gap’s flagship store on Oxford Street held two events at the beginning of December to encourage press and shoppers alike to capture their own Disney moment.
Gap personalised a photo pod with the new GapxDisney campaign themed around LOVE and friendship. One of the campaigns shows siblings cuddling one another with a message posted on social media with the tag line ‘LOVE is saving your brother’s life because you want to #imagine’.
The photo experience used green screen removal technology for press and visitors to pick their unique Disney theme as the backdrop to their photo. The photo booth offered instant printing for visitors and the photos featured a polaroid border adorned with the Gap x Disney branding and #Imagine hashtag.
Disney seems to be at forefront of fashion right now with collaborations with Danielle Nicole and Coach. Minnie has influenced beauty and fashion since she was introduced to the world way back in 1928, so it was no surprise to see her fashion credentials go full circle once again. Maybe if the sales see a sizeable Mickey and Minnie-related bump, the collection will make its way into adult stores, as well – we want some of the LOVE too GAP.
Earlier in the year we worked with GAP stores nationwide in the hunt to find the next Gapkids model. The global fashion retail chain set up Gap Casting Call photo booths at stores in London, Midlands and Birmingham. Find out about the GAP Casting Call 2016 here.
