#InstantHero – One Difference on the Road

One Difference Instant Hero Water

One Difference was conceived by a group of friends in the early noughties during an intoxicating drinking session at The Slug and Lettuce in Wardour Street.  10 years on, One Difference is now the UK’s leading ethical bottled water brand, remaining true to their word by donating 100% of their profits to fund life-changing projects in Africa.

Last month we joined One Difference at the official launch party of their latest campaign, Instant Hero. The party was to mark their 10-year anniversary and celebrate reaching the astonishing milestone of £10 million to help rebuild lives that have been affected by contaminated water in Africa.

One Difference Instant Hero

From sailing across the Thames on the grand Silver Sturgeon last month, we are showing our support again by joining the One Difference team as they embark on a small UK tour that includes four days at Kings Cross Station and a day at Waterloo Station before heading north to Manchester. From June 17-19th Kings Cross Station will be transformed into an One Difference lair with a pop up tattoo parlour to sit alongside our interactive Instant Hero photo booth, which will be hidden away inside a giant inflatable structure.

Once you’ve had your Instant Hero photo with us, swing by the Starbucks outside the station and grab a bottle of One Water, they’ll throw in a free origin shot with every purchase. Available for limited time only.

The #InstantHero campaign

One Difference Instant Hero

We all have a superpower and it’s to change millions of lives around the world. You can become an Instant Hero by buying a bottle of One Water, which will unleash your superpower to the world. You can also be part of the campaign by creating an Instant Hero selfie, nominating your hero of the week and pestering your local shops to stock One Water. Our personal favourite is you can now add an #InstantHero icon, known as a  Twibbon, to your profile picture for Facebook and Twitter.

But whatever you do, remember your real power is the power to make a difference.

Searching for the Kiberan girl

In Dec 2013 a poignant photo surfaced during a time when the world was absorbed in the capture of Saddam Hussein, but for one man the photo changed everything. A photo of a girl by a padlocked tap drove him to learn that many people are still suffering all over the world from contaminated water.

One Difference Searching for Kiberia Girl

That one man, Duncan Goose, quit his job and risked everything on launching a philanthropic brand that donate 100% of its profit to funding water projects – One water and The One Foundation were born.

10 years on and £10m raised to help to change the lives of over £2.5m people, Duncan decided to search for the girl in the photo and what he learn are the harsh realities of life in Kibera.
