The Berenberg Gary Player Invitational 2015 at Wentworth Golf Club
The Berenberg Gary Player Invitational took place at Wentworth Golf Club, the home of the 2015 PGA Championship, on the 19th -20th July. The UK’s leading Pro-Celebrity charity golf event featured an all-star line-up including ‘The Black Knight’ himself Gary Player and a host of his VIP and celebrity friends. Gary Player is widely recognised as The World’s Most Traveled Athlete, Grand Slam, Winner and designer of over 300 golf courses worldwide. This year the Invitational has taken place in New York, Shanghai and South Africa.
The teams included two amateur guests joined by a pro and celebrity, competing in a team alliance medal competition where the two best scores on each hole counted. Team Woosnam won the competition with Team Lyle, Watson, Poulter and Player sharing the spoils for second and third place.
The Gary Player Invitational offered companies a fantastic platform for entertainment and networking, whilst also raising money for an incredibly worthy cause – The Player Foundation.
The Player Foundation nominated the BerenbergKids charity as a beneficiary of the event. The BerenbergKids is an initiative came into being in 2007 through the dedication of staff of Germany’s oldest private bank. They wanted to use the privileged position they enjoyed or had achieved such as a sound education, financial security or strong networks to help socially disadvantaged and needy children and young people.
